'About' का प्रयोग

Topic, Approximation, and Immediate Future.

Concept: "About" generally means "concerning a topic" or "near/around something". It is also used to talk about things happening in the very near future.
(About का प्रयोग 'के बारे में', 'लगभग' या 'वाला/वाली' के अर्थ में होता है।)

1. Regarding / Concerning (के बारे में)

Used to say what the subject of discussion or thought is.

2. Approximation (लगभग - Numbers/Time)

Used when you are not exact, but close to a number or time.

It is about 5 o'clock. लगभग 5 बजे हैं।
He is about 40 years old. वह करीब 40 साल का है।
There were about 100 people. वहाँ लगभग 100 लोग थे।

3. "About To" (वाला है / वाली है)

Used for actions that are going to happen very soon (Immediate Future).

Formula: Is/Am/Are + about to + Verb (1st form)

I am about to call you. मैं तुम्हें फोन करने ही वाला था/हूँ।

Note: About vs Around

In American English, "Around" is often used for numbers (Around 5 PM). In British/Indian English, "About" is very common (About 5 PM). Both are correct.
