The Ant and the Grasshopper
(चींटी और टिड्डा)

It was a bright summer day. यह गर्मी का एक उज्ज्वल दिन था। The sun was shining high in the sky. सूरज आसमान में ऊँचा चमक रहा था। The field was full of green grass. खेत हरी घास से भरा था। Colourful flowers were blooming everywhere. हर तरफ रंग-बिरंगे फूल खिले थे। A lazy Grasshopper lived in this field. इस खेत में एक आलसी टिड्डा रहता था। He was very happy and carefree. वह बहुत खुश और लापरवाह था। He loved to sing and dance. उसे गाना और नाचना बहुत पसंद था। He did not like to do any work. उसे कोई काम करना पसंद नहीं था। He chirped loudly and jumped around. वह जोर-जोर से चहकता और इधर-उधर कूदता था। "What a beautiful day!" he said. "कितना सुंदर दिन है!" उसने कहा। "Life is so good and easy." "जीवन कितना अच्छा और आसान है।" He sat on a blade of grass. वह घास के एक तिनके पर बैठ गया। He played his violin happily. उसने खुशी-खुशी अपना वायलिन बजाया। He had no worries in his mind. उसके मन में कोई चिंता नहीं थी।

Just then, a small Ant passed by. तभी, एक छोटी चींटी वहां से गुजरी। The Ant was carrying a huge seed. चींटी एक बहुत बड़ा बीज ले जा रही थी। It was a heavy grain of wheat. यह गेहूं का एक भारी दाना था। The grain was bigger than the Ant. दाना चींटी से भी बड़ा था। The Ant was sweating and tired. चींटी पसीने से लथपथ और थकी हुई थी। But he did not stop walking. लेकिन उसने चलना बंद नहीं किया। He was walking towards his anthill. वह अपनी बांबी (चींटी के घर) की ओर जा रहा था। The Grasshopper saw the busy Ant. टिड्डे ने व्यस्त चींटी को देखा। He laughed at the little creature. वह छोटे जीव पर हंसा। "Hello, my little friend," said the Grasshopper. "नमस्ते, मेरे छोटे दोस्त," टिड्डे ने कहा। "Why are you working so hard?" "तुम इतनी मेहनत क्यों कर रहे हो?" "It is a hot summer day." "यह गर्मी का गर्म दिन है।" "Come and sit with me." "आओ और मेरे साथ बैठो।" "Let us sing and enjoy the sun." "चलो गाएं और धूप का आनंद लें।"

The Ant stopped for a moment. चींटी एक पल के लिए रुक गई। He wiped the sweat from his forehead. उसने अपने माथे से पसीना पोंछा। "I cannot stop now," said the Ant. The Grasshopper could not bear the hunger. टिड्डा भूख बर्दाश्त नहीं कर सका। He decided to visit the Ant. उसने चींटी के पास जाने का फैसला किया। He walked slowly through the deep snow. वह गहरी बर्फ में धीरे-धीरे चला। His legs were freezing and numb. उसके पैर जम रहे थे और सुन्न थे। He reached the Ant's small house. वह चींटी के छोटे से घर पहुँचा। He knocked on the tiny door. उसने छोटे दरवाजे पर दस्तक दी। "Knock! Knock!" went the sound. "खट! खट!" आवाज आई। The Ant opened the door slightly. चींटी ने दरवाजा थोड़ा सा खोला। Inside, it was warm and bright. अंदर, यह गर्म और उज्ज्वल था। The Ant looked at the shivering Grasshopper. चींटी ने कांपते हुए टिड्डे को देखा। "What do you want?" asked the Ant. "क्या तुमने कोई भोजन नहीं बचाया?" The Grasshopper hung his head in shame. टिड्डे ने शर्म से अपना सिर झुका लिया। "I was busy singing and dancing," he said.
