The Sage and the Mouse
(साधु और चूहा)

Long ago, in a dense forest, lived a Sage. बहुत समय पहले, एक घने जंगल में, एक साधु रहता था। His name was Maha Muni. उसका नाम महा मुनि था। He was very old and powerful. वह बहुत बूढ़ा और शक्तिशाली था। He lived in a small hut near a river. वह एक नदी के पास एक छोटी सी झोपड़ी में रहता था। He spent all his time praying to God. वह अपना सारा समय भगवान की प्रार्थना करने में बिताता था। Through his prayers, he gained magical powers. अपनी प्रार्थनाओं के माध्यम से, उसने जादुई शक्तियाँ प्राप्त कर ली थीं। He could change things with his words. वह अपने शब्दों से चीजों को बदल सकता था। One sunny morning, he was sitting outside. एक धूप वाली सुबह, वह बाहर बैठा था। He was enjoying the warm sunlight. वह गर्म धूप का आनंद ले रहा था। Birds were chirping in the trees above. ऊपर पेड़ों में पक्षी चहक रहे थे। Suddenly, a crow flew over his head. अचानक, एक कौआ उसके सिर के ऊपर से उड़ा। The crow was holding something in its beak. कौआ अपनी चोंच में कुछ पकड़े हुए था। It was a small, frightened mouse. यह एक छोटा, डरा हुआ चूहा था। The mouse slipped from the crow's beak. चूहा कौवे की चोंच से फिसल गया। It fell straight into the Sage's lap. वह सीधे साधु की गोद में गिर गया। The mouse was shaking with fear. चूहा डर से कांप रहा था। It had wounds on its small body. उसके छोटे शरीर पर घाव थे।

The Sage picked up the mouse gently. साधु ने चूहे को धीरे से उठाया। He felt pity for the little creature. उसे छोटे जीव पर दया आ गई। "Do not worry, little one," he said. "चिंता मत करो, नन्हे," उसने कहा। "I will take care of you." "मैं तुम्हारी देखभाल करूँगा।" He cleaned the mouse's wounds with water. उसने पानी से चूहे के घाव साफ किए। He gave it some rice grains to eat. उसने उसे खाने के लिए कुछ चावल के दाने दिए। The mouse ate and felt better. चूहे ने खाया और बेहतर महसूस किया। The mouse decided to stay with the Sage. चूहे ने साधु के साथ रहने का फैसला किया। It lived in a small hole near the hut. वह झोपड़ी के पास एक छोटे से बिल में रहता था। The Sage loved the mouse like a child. साधु चूहे को बच्चे की तरह प्यार करता था। Days passed peacefully in the ashram. आश्रम में दिन शांति से बीते। However, danger was lurking nearby. हालाँकि, खतरा पास ही मंडरा रहा था।

One day, a big cat came there. एक दिन, एक बड़ी बिल्ली वहां आई। The cat saw the mouse playing outside. बिल्ली ने चूहे को बाहर खेलते देखा। Its eyes shone with hunger. उसकी आंखें भूख से चमक उठीं। It chased the mouse around the hut. उसने झोपड़ी के चारों ओर चूहे का पीछा किया। The mouse ran as fast as lightning. चूहा बिजली की तरह तेज भागा। It jumped into the Sage's lap again. वह फिर से साधु की गोद में कूद गया। "Save me! Save me!" squeaked the mouse. "मुझे बचाओ! मुझे बचाओ!" चूहा चीखा। "The cat will eat me alive." "बिल्ली मुझे जिंदा खा जाएगी।" The Sage saw the cat waiting nearby. साधु ने बिल्ली को पास में इंतजार करते देखा। He understood the mouse's problem. वह चूहे की समस्या समझ गया। "You are afraid because you are small," he said. "तुम डरते हो क्योंकि तुम छोटे हो," उसने कहा। "I will make you strong." "मैं तुम्हें मजबूत बनाऊंगा।" He sprinkled some holy water on the mouse. उसने चूहे पर थोड़ा पवित्र जल छिड़का। He chanted a magic spell. उसने एक जादुई मंत्र का जाप किया। "Become a cat!" commanded the Sage. "बिल्ली बन जाओ!" साधु ने आदेश दिया। Instantly, the mouse turned into a big cat. तुरंत, चूहा एक बड़ी बिल्ली में बदल गया। It meowed loudly at the other cat. वह दूसरी बिल्ली पर जोर से म्याऊं बोला। The other cat got scared and ran away. दूसरी बिल्ली डर गई और भाग गई। The mouse-cat was very happy now. चूहा-बिल्ली अब बहुत खुश था।

A few days later, a new trouble came. कुछ दिनों बाद, एक नई मुसीबत आई। A stray dog entered the ashram. एक आवारा कुत्ता आश्रम में घुस आया। It started barking at the cat. वह बिल्ली पर भौंकने लगा। The cat was terrified of the dog. बिल्ली कुत्ते से बहुत डरी हुई थी। It ran to the Sage for protection. वह सुरक्षा के लिए साधु के पास भागी। "Guruji, please help me," cried the cat. "गुरुजी, कृपया मेरी मदद करें," बिल्ली रोई। "This dog wants to kill me." "यह कुत्ता मुझे मारना चाहता है।" The Sage smiled gently. साधु धीरे से मुस्कुराया। "Do not fear, my child," he said. "डरो मत, मेरे बच्चे," उसने कहा। "I will make you bigger than him." "मैं तुम्हें उससे बड़ा बना दूँगा।" He sprinkled water again and chanted. उसने फिर से पानी छिड़का और जाप किया। "Become a dog!" he ordered. "कुत्ता बन जाओ!" उसने आदेश दिया। The cat transformed into a huge dog. बिल्ली एक विशाल कुत्ते में बदल गई। It barked loudly and chased the stray dog. वह जोर से भौंका और आवारा कुत्ते का पीछा किया। The stray dog ran away in terror. आवारा कुत्ता दहशत में भाग गया। The mouse was now a dog and felt safe. चूहा अब कुत्ता था और सुरक्षित महसूस कर रहा था।

One night, a tiger came from the jungle. एक रात, जंगल से एक बाघ आया। Its eyes were glowing in the dark. उसकी आंखें अंधेरे में चमक रही थीं। It roared loudly near the hut. वह झोपड़ी के पास जोर से दहाड़ा। The dog (who was a mouse) shivered. कुत्ता (जो एक चूहा था) कांपने लगा। He knew a dog cannot fight a tiger. वह जानता था कि एक कुत्ता बाघ से नहीं लड़ सकता। He ran inside the hut to the Sage. वह झोपड़ी के अंदर साधु के पास भागा। "Master, a tiger is here!" he whispered. "मालिक, यहाँ एक बाघ है!" वह फुसफुसाया। "Please make me stronger than him." "कृपया मुझे उससे ज्यादा मजबूत बना दें।" The Sage agreed one last time. साधु आखिरी बार मान गया। "Become a tiger!" said the powerful Sage. "बाघ बन जाओ!" शक्तिशाली साधु ने कहा। The dog turned into a majestic tiger. कुत्ता एक राजसी बाघ में बदल गया। He was stronger than the wild tiger. वह जंगली बाघ से ज्यादा ताकतवर था। He went out and roared ferociously. वह बाहर गया और भयानक रूप से दहाड़ा। The wild tiger was scared and left. जंगली बाघ डर गया और चला गया। Now, the mouse was the King of the forest. अब, चूहा जंगल का राजा था।

But something changed in the mouse's mind. लेकिन चूहे के दिमाग में कुछ बदल गया। He looked at his powerful paws. उसने अपने शक्तिशाली पंजों को देखा। He looked at his sharp claws. उसने अपने तेज नाखूनों को देखा। He felt very proud and arrogant. उसे बहुत गर्व और अहंकार महसूस हुआ। All the animals in the forest feared him. जंगल के सभी जानवर उससे डरते थे। But the Sage was not afraid of him. लेकिन साधु उससे नहीं डरता था। The Sage treated him like a pet. साधु उसके साथ पालतू जानवर जैसा व्यवहार करता था। "Come here, little one," the Sage would say. "यहाँ आओ, नन्हे," साधु कहता था। This made the tiger very angry. इससे बाघ को बहुत गुस्सा आता था। "He knows my secret," thought the tiger. "वह मेरा रहस्य जानता है," बाघ ने सोचा। "He knows I am just a mouse inside." "वह जानता है कि मैं अंदर से सिर्फ एक चूहा हूँ।" "He can turn me back anytime." "वह मुझे कभी भी वापस बदल सकता है।" "As long as he lives, I am not safe." "जब तक वह जीवित है, मैं सुरक्षित नहीं हूँ।" "Everyone respects him more than me." "हर कोई मुझसे ज्यादा उसका सम्मान करता है।" Ungrateful thoughts filled his mind. कृतघ्न विचारों ने उसके दिमाग को भर दिया। He decided to kill his master. उसने अपने मालिक को मारने का फैसला किया।

One afternoon, the Sage was meditating. एक दोपहर, साधु ध्यान कर रहा था। His eyes were closed in prayer. प्रार्थना में उसकी आंखें बंद थीं। The tiger slowly crept towards him. बाघ धीरे-धीरे उसकी ओर रेंगता गया। He prepared to jump on the old man. उसने बूढ़े आदमी पर कूदने की तैयारी की। But the Sage had magical powers. लेकिन साधु के पास जादुई शक्तियाँ थीं। He knew what the tiger was thinking. वह जानता था कि बाघ क्या सोच रहा है। He opened his eyes suddenly. उसने अचानक अपनी आंखें खोलीं। His eyes were burning with anger. उसकी आंखें गुस्से से जल रही थीं। "You ungrateful wretch!" shouted the Sage. "तुम एहसान फरामोश दुष्ट!" साधु चिल्लाया। "I saved you from death." "मैंने तुम्हें मौत से बचाया।" "I made you strong and powerful." "मैंने तुम्हें मजबूत और शक्तिशाली बनाया।" "And now you want to kill me?" "और अब तुम मुझे मारना चाहते हो?" The tiger froze in mid-air. बाघ हवा में ही जम गया। "Nature cannot be changed," said the Sage. "स्वभाव बदला नहीं जा सकता," साधु ने कहा। "You have the body of a tiger." "तुम्हारे पास बाघ का शरीर है।" "But you have the heart of a mouse." "लेकिन तुम्हारे पास चूहे का दिल है।" "Go back to your true form!" "अपने असली रूप में वापस जाओ!" "Punar Mushiko Bhava!" (Become a mouse again). "पुनर मुषिको भव!" (फिर से चूहा बन जाओ)।

Instantly, the huge tiger shrank down. तुरंत, विशाल बाघ सिकुड़ गया। His paws became tiny again. उसके पंजे फिर से छोटे हो गए। His tail became thin and long. उसकी पूंछ पतली और लंबी हो गई। He became a small mouse once more. वह एक बार फिर छोटा चूहा बन गया। The mouse looked at the Sage with shame. चूहे ने शर्म से साधु की ओर देखा। He realized his great mistake. उसे अपनी बड़ी गलती का एहसास हुआ। He had lost everything because of greed. लालच के कारण उसने सब कुछ खो दिया था। The Sage picked him up by the tail. साधु ने उसे पूंछ से उठाया। He threw him far away into the forest. उसने उसे जंगल में बहुत दूर फेंक दिया। The mouse ran away to save his life. चूहा अपनी जान बचाने के लिए भाग गया। He lived in fear of cats forever. वह हमेशा के लिए बिल्लियों के डर में रहा। The story teaches us a valuable lesson. कहानी हमें एक बहुमूल्य सबक सिखाती है। We should never bite the hand that feeds us. हमें कभी भी उस हाथ को नहीं काटना चाहिए जो हमें खिलाता है। And we should never be arrogant. और हमें कभी भी अहंकारी नहीं होना चाहिए।
