The Four Cows and the Lion
(चार गायें और शेर)

Once upon a time, there was a dense forest. एक समय की बात है, एक घना जंगल था। Near this forest, there was a beautiful meadow. इस जंगल के पास, एक सुंदर घास का मैदान था। The meadow was always full of fresh green grass. घास का मैदान हमेशा ताजी हरी घास से भरा रहता था। The flowers bloomed there all year round. वहाँ साल भर फूल खिलते थे। In this village, lived four cows. इस गाँव में चार गायें रहती थीं। They were very close and best friends. वे बहुत करीबी और सबसे अच्छे दोस्त थे। One cow was black in color. एक गाय काले रंग की थी। Another cow was completely white. दूसरी गाय पूरी तरह सफेद थी। The third cow was reddish-brown. तीसरी गाय लाल-भूरे रंग की थी। The fourth cow had spots on her body. चौथी गाय के शरीर पर धब्बे थे। Despite their different colors, they were united. अपने अलग-अलग रंगों के बावजूद, वे एकजुट थे। They did everything together every day. वे हर दिन सब कुछ साथ करते थे। They grazed in the same field together. वे एक ही खेत में साथ चरते थे। They drank water from the same pond. वे एक ही तालाब से पानी पीते थे। They slept near each other under the trees. वे पेड़ों के नीचे एक-दूसरे के पास सोते थे। Their friendship was famous in the whole forest. उनकी दोस्ती पूरे जंगल में मशहूर थी।

A big Lion lived in that forest. उस जंगल में एक बड़ा शेर रहता था। He was a fierce and cruel hunter. वह एक भयंकर और क्रूर शिकारी था। He often watched the cows from a distance. वह अक्सर गायों को दूर से देखता था। He hid behind the thick bushes silently. वह घनी झाड़ियों के पीछे चुपचाप छिपा रहता था। His mouth watered when he saw them. उन्हें देखकर उसके मुंह में पानी आ जाता था। "These cows look very fat and delicious," he thought. The Lion realized he could not win by force. शेर को एहसास हुआ कि वह ताकत से नहीं जीत सकता। He knew unity was their biggest strength. वह जानता था कि एकता ही उनकी सबसे बड़ी ताकत है। "As long as they are united, I am helpless," he said. "जब तक वे एकजुट हैं, मैं असहाय हूँ," उसने कहा। "I must find a way to divide them." "मुझे उन्हें बांटने का कोई रास्ता निकालना होगा।" "If I can separate them, I can eat them." "वह बहुत स्वार्थी और लालची है।" The Brown Cow felt angry and jealous. भूरी गाय को गुस्सा और जलन महसूस हुई। Next, the Lion went to the Black Cow. इसके बाद, शेर काली गाय के पास गया। "Your friends make fun of your color," he lied. The next morning, they met in the field. अगली सुबह, वे खेत में मिलीं। But the atmosphere was very tense. लेकिन माहौल बहुत तनावपूर्ण था। They did not greet each other happily. उन्होंने खुशी से एक-दूसरे का अभिवादन नहीं किया। "Why did you eat the best grass?" asked the Brown Cow. "और तुम मेरे रंग का मजाक उड़ाती हो!" काली गाय रोई। They started arguing loudly with each other. वे एक-दूसरे के साथ जोर-जोर से बहस करने लगीं। They forgot their years of friendship. वे अपनी सालों की दोस्ती भूल गईं। They forgot their unity and love. वे अपनी एकता और प्यार भूल गईं। "I do not want to stay with you," said one. "मैं तुम्हारे साथ नहीं रहना चाहती," एक ने कहा। "I can live alone better," said another. "मैं अकेले बेहतर रह सकती हूँ," दूसरी ने कहा। "I don't need false friends," said the third. The Spotted Cow went to the North corner. चितकबरी गाय उत्तरी कोने में चली गई। The Black Cow went to the South corner. काली गाय दक्षिणी कोने में चली गई। The White Cow went to the East corner. सफेद गाय पूर्वी कोने में चली गई। The Brown Cow went to the West corner. भूरी गाय पश्चिमी कोने में चली गई। They grazed alone in different parts of the forest. वे जंगल के अलग-अलग हिस्सों में अकेले चरने लगीं। They thought they were happy and free. उन्होंने सोचा कि वे खुश और स्वतंत्र हैं। But the Lion was watching everything closely. लेकिन शेर सब कुछ करीब से देख रहा था। He was hiding behind a large rock. वह एक बड़ी चट्टान के पीछे छिपा हुआ था। He smiled a cruel and hungry smile. वह एक क्रूर और भूखी मुस्कान के साथ मुस्कुराया। "My plan has worked perfectly," he laughed. "मेरी योजना पूरी तरह से काम कर गई है," वह हंसा। "Now they are divided and weak." "अब वे विभाजित और कमजोर हैं।" "They have no one to protect them."
