The Donkey in the Lion's Skin

Once upon a time, in a small village, lived a washerman. एक समय की बात है, एक छोटे से गाँव में, एक धोबी रहता था। He was a very poor man. वह एक बहुत गरीब आदमी था। He had a thin and weak donkey. उसके पास एक दुबला और कमजोर गधा था। The donkey worked hard all day. गधा दिन भर कड़ी मेहनत करता था। He carried heavy loads of clothes to the river. वह नदी तक कपड़ों का भारी बोझ ढोता था। But the washerman could not buy enough food. लेकिन धोबी पर्याप्त भोजन नहीं खरीद सकता था। The donkey was always hungry and sad. गधा हमेशा भूखा और दुखी रहता था। He grew thinner day by day. वह दिन-ब-दिन दुबला होता गया। His ribs were showing through his skin. उसकी पसलियां उसकी त्वचा से दिख रही थीं। The washerman felt bad for his animal. धोबी को अपने जानवर के लिए बुरा लगता था। "I wish I could feed him better," he thought. Run! A lion is here!" they screamed. One night, the moon was very bright. एक रात, चाँद बहुत चमकीला था। The donkey was grazing in a wheat field. गधा गेहूं के खेत में चर रहा था। He was feeling very full and happy. वह बहुत भरा हुआ और खुश महसूस कर रहा था। The cool breeze was blowing gently. ठंडी हवा धीरे-धीरे चल रही थी। Suddenly, he heard a sound from far away. अचानक, उसने दूर से एक आवाज सुनी। It was the voice of a female donkey. यह एक मादा गधे की आवाज थी। She was braying loudly in the distance. वह दूर जोर से रेंक रही थी। "Hee-Haw! Hee-Haw!" went the sound. "ही-हॉ! ही-हॉ!" आवाज आई। The donkey lifted his head and listened. गधे ने अपना सिर उठाया और सुना। He felt a strong urge to answer her. उसे उसको जवाब देने की तीव्र इच्छा महसूस हुई। He forgot that he was wearing a lion's skin. वह भूल गया कि उसने शेर की खाल पहनी हुई है। He forgot he was supposed to be silent. वह भूल गया कि उसे चुप रहना था। His natural instinct took over him completely. उसकी प्राकृतिक प्रवृत्ति ने उस पर पूरी तरह कब्जा कर लिया।

He lifted his neck towards the sky. उसने अपनी गर्दन आसमान की ओर उठाई। He started braying as loud as he could. वह जितनी जोर से हो सका रेंकने लगा। "Hee-Haw! Hee-Haw! Hee-Haw!" he shouted. They came out of their hiding spots. वे अपने छिपने के स्थानों से बाहर आए। They shone their torches on the animal. उन्होंने जानवर पर अपनी मशालें (टॉर्च) चमकाईं। They saw the fake lion braying happily. उन्होंने नकली शेर को खुशी से रेंकते हुए देखा। They understood the trick immediately. वे तुरंत चाल समझ गए। "It is just a donkey in disguise!" they yelled. "तुम मूर्ख जानवर," उसने आह भरी। "You could not keep your mouth shut." "तुम अपना मुंह बंद नहीं रख सके।" "Your voice revealed your true identity." "तुम्हारी आवाज ने तुम्हारी असली पहचान उजागर कर दी।"

The donkey lay down in his stable. गधा अपने अस्तबल में लेट गया। His body was aching all over. उसके पूरे शरीर में दर्द हो रहा था। He had lost his easy life. उसने अपना आसान जीवन खो दिया था। He realized that silence is golden. उसे एहसास हुआ कि मौन सुनहरा है। If he had stayed silent, he would be safe. अगर वह चुप रहता, तो सुरक्षित रहता। But he tried to be something he was not. लेकिन उसने वह बनने की कोशिश की जो वह नहीं था। We can change our clothes easily. हम अपने कपड़े आसानी से बदल सकते हैं। But we cannot change our nature easily. लेकिन हम अपने स्वभाव को आसानी से नहीं बदल सकते। A donkey will always be a donkey. गधा हमेशा गधा ही रहेगा। Even if he wears a lion's skin. भले ही वह शेर की खाल पहन ले। The washerman treated his wounds. धोबी ने उसके घावों का इलाज किया। From that day, the donkey worked honestly. उस दिन से, गधे ने ईमानदारी से काम किया। He never tried to trick anyone again. उसने फिर कभी किसी को धोखा देने की कोशिश नहीं की। He learned to be happy with who he was. उसने खुद से खुश रहना सीख लिया।
