The Ugly Duckling
(बदसूरत बत्तख का बच्चा)

It was a bright and beautiful summer. यह एक उज्ज्वल और सुंदर गर्मी थी। The wheat fields were golden yellow. गेहूं के खेत सुनहरे पीले थे। The hay was stacked in the green meadows. हरी घास के मैदानों में सूखी घास का ढेर लगा था। In a sunny spot near the old house. पुराने घर के पास एक धूप वाली जगह में। A mother duck was sitting on her nest. एक माँ बत्तख अपने घोंसले पर बैठी थी। She was waiting for her eggs to hatch. वह अपने अंडों के फूटने का इंतजार कर रही थी। She had been sitting there for a long time. वह काफी देर से वहीं बैठी थी। She was very tired and bored. वह बहुत थक गई थी और ऊब गई थी। At last, the eggs started to crack. अंततः, अंडे चटकने लगे। "Crack! Crack!" went the shells. "कड़क! कड़क!" छिलके (टूटने) लगे। One by one, little ducklings came out. एक-एक करके छोटे बत्तख के बच्चे बाहर निकले। They shook their little wings and chirped. उन्होंने अपने छोटे पंख हिलाए और चहचहाए। "Peep! Peep!" they cried happily. "पीप! पीप!" वे खुशी से चिल्लाए। "Quack! Quack!" said the mother duck lovingly. "तुम कौन हो?" उन्होंने आश्चर्य से पूछा। "I am a duckling," he replied softly. "मैं बत्तख का बच्चा हूँ," उसने धीरे से उत्तर दिया। "You are very ugly," said the wild ducks. "तुम बहुत बदसूरत हो," जंगली बत्तखों ने कहा। "But we do not care if you stay." "लेकिन अगर तुम रहते हो तो हमें कोई परवाह नहीं है।" "Just do not marry into our family."
