The King and the Stone in the Road
(राजा और सड़क पर पत्थर)

Long ago, there lived a very wise King. बहुत समय पहले, एक बहुत बुद्धिमान राजा रहता था। He wanted to test his people. वह अपनी प्रजा की परीक्षा लेना चाहता था। He wanted to see if they were responsible. वह देखना चाहता था कि क्या वे जिम्मेदार हैं। He wanted to know if they cared about others. वह जानना चाहता था कि क्या वे दूसरों की परवाह करते हैं। So, he came up with a plan. इसलिए, उसने एक योजना बनाई। Early one morning, he went to the main road. एक सुबह जल्दी, वह मुख्य सड़क पर गया। This road led to the city market. यह सड़क शहर के बाजार की ओर जाती थी। It was the busiest road in the kingdom. यह राज्य की सबसे व्यस्त सड़क थी। The King asked his soldiers to bring a stone. राजा ने अपने सैनिकों से एक पत्थर लाने को कहा। It was a very huge and heavy rock. यह एक बहुत बड़ी और भारी चट्टान थी। They placed the stone right in the middle. उन्होंने पत्थर को ठीक बीच में रख दिया। It blocked half of the road path. इसने सड़क के आधे रास्ते को रोक दिया। Then, the King hid behind a large bush. फिर, राजा एक बड़ी झाड़ी के पीछे छिप गया। He wanted to watch what people would do. वह देखना चाहता था कि लोग क्या करेंगे। He waited patiently for the travelers. उसने यात्रियों का धैर्यपूर्वक इंतजार किया।

Soon, a wealthy merchant came along. जल्द ही, एक अमीर व्यापारी वहाँ आया। He was riding in a beautiful carriage. वह एक सुंदर गाड़ी में सवार था। He was wearing expensive silk clothes. उसने महंगे रेशमी कपड़े पहने हुए थे। He saw the big stone on the road. उसने सड़क पर बड़ा पत्थर देखा। His carriage had to stop suddenly. उसकी गाड़ी को अचानक रुकना पड़ा। The merchant looked very annoyed. व्यापारी बहुत नाराज लग रहा था। "What is this?" he shouted angrily. "यह क्या है?" वह गुस्से में चिल्लाया। "Why is there a rock in my way?" "मेरे रास्ते में पत्थर क्यों है?" He looked around but saw no one. उसने चारों ओर देखा लेकिन उसे कोई नहीं दिखा। "The King is so careless," he complained. "राजा बहुत लापरवाह है," उसने शिकायत की। "He does not keep the roads clean." "वह सड़कों को साफ नहीं रखता।" "I pay so much tax to him." "मैं उसे इतना टैक्स देता हूँ।" "Yet, he cannot remove a simple stone." A little later, a soldier came walking. थोड़ी देर बाद, एक सैनिक चलता हुआ आया। He was tall and looked very strong. वह लंबा था और बहुत मजबूत लग रहा था। He was singing a song loudly. वह जोर-जोर से गाना गा रहा था। He was not looking at the ground. वह जमीन की ओर नहीं देख रहा था। Suddenly, he tripped over the huge stone. अचानक, वह विशाल पत्थर से टकरा गया। He fell down hard on the dust. वह धूल पर जोर से गिर गया। His sword fell from his hand. उसकी तलवार उसके हाथ से गिर गई। He stood up and dusted his clothes. वह खड़ा हुआ और अपने कपड़े झाड़े। He was very angry and embarrassed. वह बहुत क्रोधित और शर्मिंदा था। "Who put this rock here?" he yelled. "यह पत्थर यहाँ किसने रखा?" वह चिल्लाया। "It is a danger to everyone." "यह सभी के लिए खतरा है।" "Someone should remove it immediately." Next, a group of students passed by. इसके बाद, छात्रों का एक समूह वहाँ से गुजरा। They were young and energetic boys. वे युवा और ऊर्जावान लड़के थे। They were laughing and talking loudly. वे हंस रहे थे और जोर-जोर से बातें कर रहे थे। They saw the big obstacle on the road. उन्होंने सड़क पर बड़ी बाधा देखी। "Look at that big rock," said one. "उस बड़ी चट्टान को देखो," एक ने कहा। "The government is useless," said another. "सरकार बेकार है," दूसरे ने कहा। "Nobody does their duty in this city." "इस शहर में कोई अपना कर्तव्य नहीं निभाता।" "If this was another country, it would be clean." It was almost evening time. लगभग शाम का समय था। The sun was setting in the west. सूरज पश्चिम में डूब रहा था। A poor vegetable seller came down the road. एक गरीब सब्जी बेचने वाला सड़क पर आया। His name was Gopal. उसका नाम गोपाल था। He was carrying a heavy basket of vegetables. वह सब्जियों की एक भारी टोकरी ले जा रहा था। He was very tired from working all day. वह दिन भर काम करके बहुत थक गया था। He saw the big stone blocking the path. उसने रास्ते को रोकते हुए बड़े पत्थर को देखा। He stopped and looked at it with concern. वह रुका और चिंता से उसे देखा। "Someone might fall in the dark," he thought. "अंधेरे में कोई गिर सकता है," उसने सोचा। "A cart might hit this rock at night." "रात में कोई गाड़ी इस चट्टान से टकरा सकती है।" "Someone could get hurt badly." "किसी को बुरी तरह चोट लग सकती है।" Gopal put down his heavy basket. गोपाल ने अपनी भारी टोकरी नीचे रख दी। He wiped the sweat from his forehead. उसने अपने माथे से पसीना पोंछा। He decided to move the stone himself. उसने पत्थर को खुद हटाने का फैसला किया।

Gopal went close to the heavy rock. गोपाल भारी चट्टान के करीब गया। He pushed it with all his strength. उसने इसे अपनी पूरी ताकत से धक्का दिया। The stone was very heavy and stuck. पत्थर बहुत भारी था और फंसा हुआ था। He tried again, grunting with effort. उसने फिर कोशिश की, कोशिश से कराहते हुए। "Move! Move!" he said to himself. "हिलो! हिलो!" उसने खुद से कहा। Slowly, the stone started to move. धीरे-धीरे, पत्थर हिलने लगा। His hands became dirty and scratched. उसके हाथ गंदे हो गए और खरोंच लग गई। His clothes got covered in dust. उसके कपड़े धूल से ढक गए। But he did not stop pushing. लेकिन उसने धक्का देना बंद नहीं किया। He pushed it inch by inch to the side. उसने इसे इंच दर इंच किनारे की ओर धकेला। Finally, he rolled it off the road. आखिरकार, उसने इसे लुढ़का कर सड़क से हटा दिया। The path was now clear and safe. रास्ता अब साफ और सुरक्षित था। Gopal took a deep breath of relief. गोपाल ने राहत की गहरी सांस ली। He felt happy that he did a good deed. उसे खुशी हुई कि उसने एक अच्छा काम किया।

Gopal went back to pick up his basket. गोपाल अपनी टोकरी उठाने वापस गया। But then he saw something on the ground. लेकिन तभी उसने जमीन पर कुछ देखा। In the spot where the stone had been. उसी जगह पर जहाँ पत्थर था। There was a small leather purse lying there. वहाँ चमड़े का एक छोटा पर्स पड़ा था। He picked up the purse with surprise. उसने हैरानी से पर्स उठाया। He opened it to see what was inside. उसने यह देखने के लिए इसे खोला कि अंदर क्या है। His eyes went wide with shock. उसकी आँखें सदमे से चौड़ी हो गईं। The purse was full of gold coins. पर्स सोने के सिक्कों से भरा हुआ था। There was also a note inside the purse. पर्स के अंदर एक नोट भी था। Gopal read the note carefully. गोपाल ने नोट को ध्यान से पढ़ा। It was written by the King himself. इसे स्वयं राजा ने लिखा था। "This gold is for the person who moves the stone." "यह सोना उस व्यक्ति के लिए है जो पत्थर हटाएगा।" "Thank you for being a responsible citizen." "एक जिम्मेदार नागरिक बनने के लिए धन्यवाद।"

Just then, the King came out from the bushes. तभी, राजा झाड़ियों से बाहर आया। He was smiling at the poor man. वह गरीब आदमी पर मुस्कुरा रहा था। Gopal bowed down with great respect. गोपाल ने बड़े आदर के साथ सिर झुकाया। "You are a good man, Gopal," said the King. "तुम एक अच्छे आदमी हो, गोपाल," राजा ने कहा। "Many people passed by this stone today." "आज कई लोग इस पत्थर के पास से गुजरे।" "Rich men, soldiers, and students passed by." "यह सोना तुम्हारा सही इनाम है।" Gopal thanked the King with tears in his eyes. गोपाल ने आँखों में आँसू लिए राजा को धन्यवाद दिया। He went home a rich and happy man. वह एक अमीर और खुशहाल आदमी बनकर घर गया। The story spread throughout the whole kingdom. कहानी पूरे राज्य में फैल गई। People learned a very important lesson that day. लोगों ने उस दिन एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण सबक सीखा।
