The Lion and the Mouse

Once upon a time, there was a dense forest. एक समय की बात है, एक घना जंगल था। In that forest lived a mighty Lion. उस जंगल में एक शक्तिशाली शेर रहता था। He was the King of the jungle. वह जंगल का राजा था। All animals were afraid of him. सभी जानवर उससे डरते थे। One hot afternoon, the Lion was sleeping. एक गर्म दोपहर में, शेर सो रहा था। He was sleeping under a large shady tree. वह एक बड़े छायादार पेड़ के नीचे सो रहा था। He had eaten a big meal. उसने भरपेट भोजन किया था। His belly was full and heavy. उसका पेट भरा हुआ और भारी था। He was enjoying a deep, peaceful sleep. वह गहरी, शांतिपूर्ण नींद का आनंद ले रहा था। He snored loudly as he dreamt. वह सपने देखते हुए जोर-जोर से खर्राटे ले रहा था। The cool breeze blew gently around him. ठंडी हवा उसके चारों ओर धीरे-धीरे बह रही थी। Everything was quiet in that part of the forest. जंगल के उस हिस्से में सब कुछ शांत था। No animal dared to disturb his rest. किसी भी जानवर की उसके आराम में खलल डालने की हिम्मत नहीं थी।

Nearby, a small Mouse lived in a hole. पास ही, एक छोटा चूहा एक बिल में रहता था। The Mouse came out to play. चूहा खेलने के लिए बाहर आया। He was a very naughty and playful creature. वह बहुत शरारती और चंचल प्राणी था। He saw the large Lion sleeping. उसने बड़े शेर को सोते हुए देखा। He thought it would be fun to play there. उसने सोचा कि वहाँ खेलना मजेदार होगा। He did not realize the danger. उसे खतरे का एहसास नहीं हुआ। He ran up the Lion's tail. वह शेर की पूंछ पर चढ़ गया। He jumped on the Lion's back. वह शेर की पीठ पर कूद गया। He slid down the Lion's ear. वह शेर के कान से नीचे फिसल गया। It felt like a soft slide to him. यह उसे एक नरम फिसलन जैसा लगा। The Mouse danced on the Lion's head. चूहा शेर के सिर पर नाचने लगा। This tickled the sleeping Lion. इससे सोते हुए शेर को गुदगुदी हुई। The Lion disturbed from his sleep. शेर की नींद में खलल पड़ा। He woke up with a loud roar. वह एक जोर की दहाड़ के साथ जाग गया।

The Lion was very angry to be woken up. जगाए जाने पर शेर बहुत क्रोधित हुआ। His eyes were red with rage. उसकी आँखें गुस्से से लाल थीं। He saw the tiny Mouse running away. उसने छोटे चूहे को भागते हुए देखा। He lifted his huge paw quickly. उसने अपना विशाल पंजा तेजी से उठाया। He trapped the Mouse under his paw. उसने चूहे को अपने पंजे के नीचे फंसा लिया। The Mouse could not move at all. चूहा बिल्कुल भी नहीं हिल सकता था। The Lion opened his big jaws. शेर ने अपना बड़ा जबड़ा खोला। He showed his sharp white teeth. उसने अपने तेज सफेद दांत दिखाए। "How dare you disturb me?" roared the Lion. "मुझे परेशान करने की तुम्हारी हिम्मत कैसे हुई?" शेर दहाड़ा। "I will crush you to death." "मैं तुम्हें कुचलकर मार डालूँगा।" "I will eat you as a small snack." "मैं तुम्हें छोटे नाश्ते के रूप में खाऊंगा।" The poor Mouse trembled with fear. बेचारा चूहा डर से कांपने लगा। He thought his life was over. उसने सोचा कि उसका जीवन खत्म हो गया है।

The Mouse folded his tiny hands. चूहे ने अपने छोटे हाथ जोड़ लिए। "O King, please forgive me!" he squeaked. "हे राजन, कृपया मुझे क्षमा करें!" वह चीखा। "I did not mean to anger you." You will help me?" he asked. "हा! हा! तुम मेरी मदद करोगे?" उसने पूछा। "I am the King of the Jungle." "मैं जंगल का राजा हूँ।" "You are just a tiny, weak mouse." "तुम बस एक छोटे, कमजोर चूहे हो।" "How can you ever help someone like me?" "तुम मुझ जैसे किसी की मदद कैसे कर सकते हो?" However, the Lion was not hungry. हालाँकि, शेर भूखा नहीं था। He felt pity for the little creature. उसे छोटे जीव पर दया आ गई। He lifted his paw and let him go. उसने अपना पंजा उठाया और उसे जाने दिया। "Run away before I change my mind," said the Lion. "चटाक!" जाल ने उसे ऊपर खींच लिया। The Lion was caught in the thick ropes. शेर मोटी रस्सियों में फंस गया था। He tried to break free with his strength. उसने अपनी ताकत से मुक्त होने की कोशिश की। He bit the ropes and clawed them. उसने रस्सियों को काटा और उन पर पंजा मारा। But the net was too strong for him. लेकिन जाल उसके लिए बहुत मजबूत था। The more he moved, the tighter it became. वह जितना अधिक हिलता, यह उतना ही कसता जाता। He roared loudly in anger and pain. वह गुस्से और दर्द में जोर से दहाड़ा। "Roar! Roar!" his voice shook the forest. "मुझे अब जाकर उसकी मदद करनी चाहिए।" The Mouse ran towards the sound quickly. चूहा तेजी से आवाज की ओर भागा। He found the Lion trapped in the net. उसने शेर को जाल में फंसा पाया। The Lion looked sad and helpless. शेर उदास और असहाय लग रहा था। "Do not worry, King," said the Mouse. "चिंता मत करो, राजन," चूहे ने कहा। "I will set you free in no time." "मैं तुम्हें कुछ ही समय में आजाद कर दूँगा।" The Lion looked at the small Mouse. शेर ने छोटे चूहे की ओर देखा। The Mouse started biting the thick ropes. चूहे ने मोटी रस्सियों को काटना शुरू कर दिया। He had very sharp little teeth. उसके बहुत तेज छोटे दांत थे। "Nibble, nibble, cut, cut," he worked fast. "कुतरना, कुतरना, काटना, काटना," उसने तेजी से काम किया। He cut one rope, then another. उसने एक रस्सी काटी, फिर दूसरी। Slowly, a big hole opened in the net. धीरे-धीरे, जाल में एक बड़ा छेद खुल गया। The Lion was able to move his legs. शेर अपने पैर हिलाने में सक्षम था। Soon, the Lion crawled out of the trap. जल्द ही, शेर जाल से बाहर रेंगकर आ गया।

The Lion was free at last. शेर आखिरकार आजाद हो गया। He stood up and shook his mane. वह खड़ा हुआ और अपना अयाल (गर्दन के बाल) हिलाया। He looked at the little Mouse with gratitude. उसने छोटे चूहे को कृतज्ञता से देखा। "Thank you, my little friend," said the Lion. "लेकिन तुमने एक महान कार्य किया है।" The Mouse smiled and bowed. चूहा मुस्कुराया और सिर झुकाया। "It was my duty, King," replied the Mouse. "आपने मेरी जान बख्शी, इसलिए मैंने आपकी जान बचाई।" From that day on, they became best friends. उस दिन से, वे सबसे अच्छे दोस्त बन गए। The Lion protected the Mouse from enemies. शेर ने दुश्मनों से चूहे की रक्षा की। The Mouse lived happily near the Lion's den. चूहा शेर की मांद के पास खुशी से रहने लगा। The animals in the forest learned a lesson. जंगल के जानवरों ने एक सबक सीखा। No one is too small to be helpful. कोई भी इतना छोटा नहीं होता कि वह मददगार न हो सके। And kindness always comes back to you. और दयालुता हमेशा आपके पास वापस आती है।
